The scan speed of Check Point's software was slower than Trend Micro's and Trend Micro does have better user friendliness, but considering the difference in price of the two products each person will have to weight the importance of every feature. One good thing is that both the Trend Micro and Check Point products can be upgraded to their suite versions for $10 to $20. Price $30, with a $20 yearly renewal fee.
•3. Microsoft Windows Live OneCare (Vista) 1.5 Provides as good detection ability as Check Point's product, although it wasn't as good at not flagging benign items as malicious. This product lacks in the ability to safely detect malware in instant messages, so if you use this service a lot, well you get the picture. It also won't detect Rootkit viruses, so if you go this route you might as well get a suite. This product is reasonably user friendly and provides adequate scan speed, depending on your requirements of course. Price $50, with a $50 yearly renewal fee, talk about pricey.
- 4. BitDefender Antivirus (Internet Security) 10 Provides average detection capabilities when compared to the first three on our list. It comes with all the features of Trend Micro's product, and although it doesn't do as good a job with many of the features, they do provide more then adequate capability. BitDefender's product only provides average user friendliness, so some mental juggling maybe necessary, unless you're already a little chaotic yourself in which case this product may exactly fit your order. The one area that BitDefender dropped the ball a little is in the area of scan speed, so if you're hard drive is large and full of files, it may take a while so you probably have time to go to Starbuck's for coffee. Price $30, with a $22 yearly renewal fee, the best price other than the free Alwil program we talk about below.

I can recommend Avast - it is now at Version 4.8 and comes with an anti=spyware module as well. I have used it for several years and it has proved very reliable.

I dislike CA interface, it used to be more friendly when the suite consisted of separately installable products (antivirus, anti-spyware (called Pest Patrol), etc). Detections rates aren't the best in the industry.

Kaspersky is the best of them all..unfortunately only if you experience it then you can tell how it feels :)...those who stick to norton, AVG, McAffee, or Nod32 might have big different opinion about their own antivirus

I was using Mc Afee anti- virus, but once intervalhehehe virus attacked my pc, then Mc afee had tracked that virus in the different name with the status as Deleted, but that virus could not be detected and also could not be deleted. so plese help me out to get rid off this virus.....also when i want to visit the google website it shows me the microsoft security web page asking me to download anti-virus....with some charges.....so please anyone try to help me.......

hei people, i have used e scan for 3years constant, n it has run on my computer without giving me a scratch of a virus, its true that it does not have a lot of reviews, but only those who use it know....n ya, it proved to detect 100% of malware n viruses in windows 7......n e scan also scans the registry, deletes unknown attachments in them...n secures them..not like avast, which deletes the registry file, but e scan, removes or deletes what is on the registry file...for help u can catch me on tejas_999@hotmail.com, please note that this is not my personal mail..its my help mail....so go out there n make the right choice....

Nod32 is the best for me, of course it works only with MSW/IE. McAfee, Norton, AVG, Bitdefender: i've tried em all. nothing like nod 32, i feel compleletly safe with it. needless to say, it needs continous/online update.

i think you all people are forgetting about a antivirus called panda.
i have been using it for past 3 years by constantly buying it's license and it just protect your computer from any virus.
Even if you are downloading a file containing a virus panda detect it and neutralize it then and there !!!

Well i used Trend Micro internet security for 3 years in a row now and i will always stay with them. I tried, norton BAD experience, Bitdefender was ok but not so good, Mcafee i tried for 2 years very good but a bit too slow for updating but still GOOD. Avast and AVG is really very good for people who dont want to spent money. I prefer Trend Micro internet security Pro!!

I recommend not to use panda cloud antivirus.because it does not clean the virus but deletes the virus infected files.when the virus infects the operating system files which are present in c or d drive,we cannot use panda cloud antivirus because it just deletes the operating system files...................

I was first using the avast 5.0 edition. but it was not too good as my pc was getting slower in speed.
Then I installed nod 32 after removing the old antivirus i,e, avast. Now my pc is quite faster than before.

Avast the best antivirus ever i h'd experience
U know frds don't use Kaspersky internet security 2010. bcz at the time of provide service it's creates so much problems, like if ur from India.. U can't contact them easily like other antivirus providers & one more thing only they give chance to use over paid version only 8-10 times after that chances antivirus show code exeeded problem after that told us to send batch id & activation code scan copy after that they provide us new activation key but only when u have remaining more then 90 days. if ur remaining days are less than 90 to 60 days. They told us it's not our policy to provide u remaining more then 60+ days.. wht is this? they get from us of full 1 year or 3 years money ... but why they can't get us full service for all 1 or 3 years.. I had 3 users Kaspersky but i have bad experice abt that.. so don't use that antivirus .. it's create our operating system slow too.. better buy new one..but pls don't buy any 3 years bcz if u not satisfied with any antivirus better u by only for 1 year.. ok guy..
